Once the generator dies at night, it becomes so dark that you can see more stars than in most places in the world. The air is devoid of pollution and there is literally no artificial light for hundreds of miles. The Milky Way is pretty sweet.

In LA we have the orange glow! It may not be natural, but it's pretty... Err... If you like orange that is. On second thought, please bring back some of that sky if you have room in your baggage. Thanks!

Definitely one upside of being isolated like that. Looks like a pretty sweet night sky to me.
